NOVEMBER 2013

Wow . . . .hard to believe Thanksgiving will be here before we know it. This is my favorite time of year as I watch the leaves change from green to wonderful shades of orange, yellow, red, brown. The colors are so vibrant each year, what a glorious thing God did when he created seasons. Take some time with your family this month to stop and look at the leaves and soak in the beauty!

Our November Bible words are: "Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise, give thanks to Him and praise His name." Psalm 100:4

Our Theme is: I Am Thankful

We have a sign filled with leaves in the hallway that we want YOU and your child to list what you are thankful for. . . . .

As you may know, Becky Taylor, has resigned as the Landing Director. We wish her well and will definitely miss all the fun she brought to our program. For the remainder of this year, please continue to follow the procedures you are accustomed to. Everything will remain the same. Should you have concerns or suggestions, you may contact me, Wendy Rote, Weekday Director. My contact information is wendy.rote@ccmason.org or 513.229.5403. We will keep you updated with our staffing changes as they develop.

SEVERE WEATHER
You should have already received a letter regarding our Severe Weather policy for the year. Please take some time to read over this. Also, you have the opportunity to sign up for DELAY Days. This is a time when the schools delay their start time. If you don't currently attend in the mornings, you can sign up to take advantage of this time. Please note, ANYONE signed up for MORNING CARE will be charged for the delay schedule regardless of attendance---this is no different than if you decide not to send your child on a typical day. If you still need this letter, please stop by the Landing desk for assistance.

Random Acts of Kindness--each class has been given "seed money" to start a project and pay it forward. You may have heard what is going on in your child's class by now. If not, ask them! We will share the results of what they were able to do for others at our DECEMBER chapel. There will be opportunities for you to participate in these activities over the next few weeks.

TROUBLE CHECKING IN AND OUT?
Some of you may have noticed it is taking a little longer to check in/out on the ProCare system. With the colder weather approaching, the fingerprint reader can sometimes cause us fits! Here are a few tips. Be sure your fingers are warm, not dry, and the fingerprint is showing up clearly. If you need to stop and get some lotion from the front desk, that is always available. Often the colder weather causes dryer skin. Please do not use WATER, as this will not help but actually hinder the readability of your prints. Should this trouble persist, please let Miss Pam at the front desk know and we may need to re-fingerprint you and start fresh.

Just a reminder that Mason City Schools are closed on Friday, November 15th. Those who have signed up for our Holiday Camp have a treat in store for them! We are going on a field trip to WHOLE FOODS and having a lot of fun that day.

Mark your calendar for these events coming up:

The Landing will be CLOSED on Wednesday, November 27 - Friday, November 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday. We pray you have a great time celebrating with your family.

November Chapel--Thursday, November 21 at 4:45 pm. We will have a special guest, Mark Senseman, CCM's new Family Life Pastor. You won't want to miss this!

Little Angels Program 2013
The Little Angels program is preparing for the 2013 Christmas season. Last year 95 families shopped at CCM for gifts for their children at a cost of only $5/child. They received 2 gifts/child and a food gift card.
If you or a friend want to use our program, or if you have questions, let us know at the Landing office. The program is open to families in the area who need some help for Christmas for their children age 18 or under.

Respite December 6
Respite is a part of CCM's Arms Wide Open program and provides a night out for parents of children with special needs and their siblings. Registration for the next event on December 6 is available at www.ccmason.org. Contact Sara Schapman at sara.schapman@ccmason for more information.

We here at the Landing are so thankful to have the opportunity to get to know you and your family. You are special to us and pray you have a blessed holiday season.
